This website is one of several websites relating to and/or operated by Dr Laura Osweiler (we/us).

We have implemented this Privacy Policy to govern the use of personally identifiable information collected from this website. Except as otherwise discussed in this Privacy Policy, this document only addresses the use and disclosure of information collected through our websites.

This Privacy Policy is intended to provide you with information as to: the type of information that is collected; how the collected information is used and with whom it is shared; how we protect the information; how you can have such information modified and/or removed.

 

TYPES OF COLLECTED INFORMATION

We may collect personally-identifiable information and non-personally identifiable information when you use our websites. The Personal Information collected through our website is used to facilitate the transactions or information you may request, and otherwise as described in this Privacy Policy. For example, we may collect Personal Information if you sign up for a subscription service, inquire about classes, participate in chats, blogs, request other information from us, subscribe to any of our online newsletters or email lists, or if you provide information through our website for any other reasons. You may choose not to provide certain information, but if so, you may not be able to participate in certain Training4DanceTeachers activities and transactions.

The Personal Information collected will vary depending on the nature of your interactions with our websites and your specific requests, but it may include your name, email address, mailing address, phone number, or other information that can be used to identify you personally.

We do not have access to financial account data in unencrypted form through our websites. Rather, we use third party service providers to process all payment transactions for our websites (whether the payment is by credit card, PayPal, or otherwise). Although these third-party processors will notify us if your payment has cleared and may submit some of your Personal Information to us, they will not provide your credit card or other payment account information to us, and the third party will be solely responsible for any issues that may arise with your payment transaction.

Information You Voluntarily Provide

In most cases we will only obtain Personal Information through our websites if you voluntarily provide it to us, for example, if you create an account with us, subscribe to our emails, fill out a contact form, or request information from us.  Some of our websites require registration or the submission of a classes.  This information is used to contact you about the products/services on our website in which you have expressed an interest.

We may collect IP addresses, click-stream data, length of session, and other information related to your use of our websites for purposes of system administration, to improve the websites, to report aggregate information to potential business partners or sponsors, and for other internal uses related to the websites.

We use this analytics data to improve our services and tailor them to the needs of our users. Amara Dances may use “cookies” and/or other technologies or files (collectively, “cookies”) to identify how its visitors make use of this Site. This aggregate tracking information is non-personally identifiable and is used to help us improve and enhance the website experience for all of its visitors. The cookies we store on your computer are not accessible on any other companies’ websites. If you would prefer not to have such cookies stored on your computer, you may modify your browser settings to reject most cookies, or manually remove cookies that have been placed on your computer. However, by so rejecting the cookies, you may be unable to fully access the offerings on this Site.

 

HOW DO WE USE COLLECTED INFORMATION?

We internally use information about our visitors and customers to improve our service offerings, for our marketing and promotional efforts, to statistically analyse website usage, to improve our content and service offerings, and to customize the content and layout of the website. We may use your email address and mailing address or phone number, to contact you regarding a reservation or inquiry you have made using our websites, regarding issues with a transaction, satisfaction with our websites and/or our products and services and to provide further information regarding additional events, products and/or services we believe would interest the customer. We may use information in the file we maintain about a customer to resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems.

We collect, process and use personal information only for the purpose for which it was first collected and, if applicable, as authorized by you, including the uses described in this Privacy Policy or other uses which you may later authorize. We take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information collected is relevant to its intended use, and is accurate, current and complete.

We do not sell customer information to other online data collection companies.

You may opt-out of having your information shared or used for marketing purposes by following the instructions below under “What choices do I have about my information?”

We may, without your consent, access and disclose your Information, any communications sent or received by you, and any other information that we may have about you to the extent we believe such disclosure is required by law, regulation, rule or court order; pursuant to requests from governmental, regulatory or administrative agencies or law enforcement authorities; or to prevent, investigate, or identify persons or organizations potentially involved in, or take any action regarding, suspected fraud, violations of our Terms of Use, or any activity that appears to us to be illegal or we believe may expose us to legal liability. Additionally, we may disclose Information in situations that we believe to be emergencies involving potential threats to the physical safety or any person or property if we believe that your Information in any way relates to that threat.

In the event that Amara Dances is involved in a merger, acquisition, consolidation, restructuring, reorganization, liquidation, sale or similar transaction relating to any portion of its business and/or assets, you hereby acknowledge and agree that the Personal Information that we collected may be included in the assets and/or transferred pursuant to such transaction. If that occurs, Training4DanceTeachers will post a notice to such effect on this Site.

 

WHAT CHOICES DO I HAVE ABOUT MY INFORMATION?

You may update or remove the Personal Information you have provided to us by sending an email to amara@amaradances.com com and lettings us know what type of changes need be made.

At any time, you may opt-out of having your Information provided to third parties for marketing or other commercial purposes and opt-out of other communications from us. You can unsubscribe from email newsletters or similar communications by clicking on the unsubscribe link in every email. You may opt-out of all Personal Information sharing with third parties for marketing purposes by emailing us at amara@amaradances.com.

To obtain a list of the Personal Information that we hold about you, please send a written request for this information, including your name, address, email address and phone number, with your signature, to us at the address above.

 

WHAT SECURITY PRECAUTIONS ARE IN PLACE TO PROTECT AGAINST THE LOSS, MISUSE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR INFORMATION?

We have implemented reasonable security measures to safeguard the Personal Information you provide us. However, please keep in mind that “perfect security” does not exist on the Internet, and accordingly we cannot provide any guarantee that your information will remain secure.

Amara Dances maintains reasonable standards of confidentiality and security for this Site and the Personal Information collected from this Site. The Personal Information you provide is secured using industry standard e-commerce security technology. We also restricts its own employees’ access to Personal Information. However, it is possible that someone may intercept or access communications, transmissions and/or Personal Information. You must also seek to protect against unauthorized access to any passwords and/or accounts that you use in connection with this Site, and you should remember to log off of the Site once you have completed your activities on the Site or if you have decided to step away from your computer. In the event that Amara Dances determines that there has been a security breach resulting in the unauthorized disclosure of Personal Information to a third party, we will notify consumers whose Personal Information has been so disclosed by posting information on the Site and, if email contact is possible, then also by sending an email advisory with respect to the situation.

 

LINKS TO OTHER WEBSITES

For example, if you click on certain links, you may leave the website and move to a different site which is not operated by us. Our websites are intended for general audiences and are not directed to children.
