CLASS POLICY

ACCESS

  • Let Laura Osweiler know if you have any special access needs.

CYBER SAFETY

  • Do not share private links, such as Zoom invitations.
  • No recording or sharing sessions.
  • Be considerate of others in the class. All students are expected to show consideration and respect to all. This will ensure a happy and pleasant environment for everyone.

 

PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEOGRAPHY

  • Video recordings of Laura Osweiler’s screen will be taken (students’ images are not in the recording but voices will be).
  • Photos and videos may be taken of students to be used for promotional material. If you do not wish for you of your child to be used please send an email requesting this to amara@amaradances.com.
  • By law, no one is able to publicly post images or videos of other children without consent from the parent/guardian.

Students do not have proprietary or monetary rights for the use of photographs/videos.

SPACE SAFETY

  • At least 2 meters (6.5 feet) of clear space around you
  • Flat surface (clear of objects or spills)
  • Clear of pets and people
  • Clear or heat sources
  • Well ventilated
  • Comfortable temperature
  • Yoga mats (if floor is hard and doing standing/lying positions)
  • Water bottle
  • Access to emergency door is clear and accessible

 

OUTFIT

  • Comfortable active wear (preferable pants) that you feel comfortable in but will not slip or trip.
  • Hip belt/scarf.
  • Consider dance sneakers or fitness sneakers if you are on a hard surface (cement, tile, wood) and/or dance shoes on carpet.

 

INJURY POLICY

  • Dancing is an activity where injuries can occur.
  • It is the responsibility of the student/parents/guardians to notify Laura Osweiler of any previous or current injuries.
  • Injuries must be reported to Laura Osweiler by the student/parent/guardian.
  • Depending on the severity of the injury I do expect the student to go to an appropriate medical practitioner.
  • Students who have been injured must present a clearance report from their practitioner stating they are able to return to classes. If the injury is ongoing we must receive reports regularly so we are aware of the restrictions placed on the student.
  • In the situation where an ambulance is required, Laura Osweiler will call the student’s emergency contact and emergency number.
  • Any injury sustained whilst training or performing in a competition or promotion will be the responsibility of the student/parent. No costs will be incurred by Laura.
  • Under 18 years old need to be supervised to provide first aid should it be required and manage cyber-security.
  • The consumption of illicit or non-prescribed drugs or alcohol that will impact class time is not acceptable.

 

AUTHORIZATION OF EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

  • I hereby authorize Laura Osweiler and to give consent for any and all necessary emergency medical care for me or any dancer I enroll in Laura Osweiler’ classes, while in the custody of them. I also hold Laura Osweiler harmless in such an event.
  • Pertinent medical conditions or allergies I or my child has:

 

ASSUMPTION OF RISK, WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT

I am aware that dancing, and the exercises associated with it, can place stress on the body, and carry with it the risk of physical injury. On behalf of myself or my child(ren), I assume the risk and agree that Laura Osweiler shall not be liable in any way for injuries sustained during attendance or any of its related functions. Student or Guardian/Parent of Student understands and acknowledges that Laura Osweiler is not an insurer of Student’s behaviour, actions or participation in the program/classes, and that she assumes no liability whatsoever for personal injuries or property damages to Student or to third persons arising out of participation in the program activities, classes, or any activities related thereto. Student or Guardian/Parent hereby agrees to release, waive, covenant not to sue, indemnify and hold harmless Laura Osweiler from any and all liability, claims, demands, judgments, act ions, executions and causes of act ion whatsoever. I understand that I am waiving my right to take legal action including filing a lawsuit for personal injuries to myself or my child(ren).

PAYMENT POLICY

  • Fees are payable before class. If payments are not made in advance or prior to the commencement of class, you will may not be able to participate in class until all monies due are paid in full.
  • Payments can be made in USD or AUD currencies. Let Laura Osweiler know which one you would like to use.
  • Payments can be made by EFT or paypal. No cash payments are accepted.
  • If you have difficulty paying fees, please email Amara so we can discuss options.

 

REFUND AND CANCELLATION POLICY

  • No refund, credit of transfer is given for missed classes by students (extreme medical conditions considered) or cancelled classes due to weather conditions or other acts of God.
  • Laura Osweiler reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any classes and class topics.
  • In the event she cancels a scheduled class, Laura will notify all registered participants immediately, and provide a pro-rated refund or transfer to another series.

 

MAKE UP CLASS POLICY

  • Make up classes are available if taken within 4 weeks.
  • Makeup classes are offered as long as there is space in the class.

PRIVACY POLICY

INFORMATION COLLECTED

I may collect information directly from you including

  • personal details – Name, Email address, Postal address, Telephone number.
  • demographic information.
  • medical information for when partaking in classes.
  • financial information (such as a credit card) and bank account details.
  • future communication preferences.

I may collect information about you from other sources, including third party outside that support our communication (Zoomm Skype, Paypal) or social media platforms including

  • personal details – Name, Email address, Postal address, Telephone number.
  • publicly observed activities or information made available by you to the public, such as blogs, videos, internet postings, and user generated content.

 

HOW I USE THIS INFORMATION

I may use the information I collect to

  • answer questions or respond to your requests.
  • send you email messages with information about classes and other content I think may be of interest.
  • create and manage your account.
  • protect against possible fraudulent transactions.

 

INFORMATION COLLECTED

I am the sole owner of the information collected. I will not share, sell or rent this information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

 

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

I engage third-party service providers to perform a variety of business operations (zoom skype, paypal, chimpmail, etc). In so doing, I may share your personal information with them. I provide our service providers with only the personal information they need in order to perform the services I request. Third party sites and apps have their own privacy notices or policies, which I strongly suggest you review. To the extent any linked sites or apps are not owned or controlled by me, I am not responsible for their content, any use of the sites or apps, or the privacy practices of the sites or apps.

 

OTHER SITUATIONS

I may transfer or otherwise process your personal information when required by law and/or government authorities.

 

EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS

You can stop receiving promotional email messages by following the opt-out instructions provided in any such message you receive.

 

PERSONAL INFORMATION RETENTION PERIOD

I will only use and store information for as long as it is required for the purposes it was collected for.  I will retain Personal Information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Where you have provided consent for my processing of your personal data, you may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting me. I will cease processing your personal data as soon as reasonably practicable following our receipt of your withdrawal.

 

RIGHTS

To the extent provided for by applicable law, you have certain rights in respect of the management of the personal data I hold about you. To the extent provided by applicable law, you have the right to request rectification of your personal data; to obtain restriction of the processing of personal data; to object to the processing of personal data (including direct marketing) and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, please contact me.

 

SECURITY

I take precautions to protect your information. Wherever I collect sensitive information, that information is encrypted and transmitted to me in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a lock icon in the address bar and looking for “https” at the beginning of the address of the Web page. While I use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, I also protect your information offline. I only have access. The computers/servers in which I store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

 

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

I do not collect personal information from persons under 18 unless presented by parents and/or guardians. Parents and guardians can review their child’s information, remove it and refuse to allow any further collection or use of the child’s information

 

COMPLAINTS

If you consider that I have processed personal data in violation of applicable law, please contact me. If you consider that I have processed personal data in violation of applicable law and failed to remedy such violation to your reasonable satisfaction, you may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
